Hi, my name is Len!

When I was 19 I got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Although it made an impact on my day-to-day life, I promised myself to never let it get in my way. I decided to travel the world and visited countries like Australia, Nepal and Kyrgyzstan.

When I visited Kyrgyzstan I met up with a couple of cyclists. They told me about their journey, exploring the world by bicycle. I couldn’t get this idea out of my head but did feel a little discouraged by having diabetes. I didn’t consider cycling the world to be an option to begin with.

But why shouldn’t I? I convinced myself that life is all about challenging yourself and pushing your limits.

I made the decision to travel the world once more. This time by bicycle. All the way to China. With diabetes. For charity.

I want to raise awareness that having diabetes isn’t an excuse to stop doing the things you love to do and to miss out on all the adventures life has to offer. Go have fun and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone every once in a while! You might inspire others to do the same.

My trip was a beautiful but challenging journey, where I was put to the test to make it all the way to China whilst paying close attention to my health. I hope to inspire others and show that anything is possible.

In case you have any questions or want to get in touch please send me an email or a message through Instagram.

Best,

Len
